Electric Boilers

The dramatic rise in energy prices has resulted in an increase in the popularity of electric boilers powering central heating and hot water systems due to the lower running costs with the use of peak avoidance tariffs.

The introduction of these high efficiency electric boilers to the Thermsaver product range addresses some of the issues raised by spiraling energy prices and climate change. These boilers are eligible for competitive electricity tariffs nationwide which will help to keep the running costs at an affordable level.

Electric boilers provide a very cost effective alternative to electric storage heating, oil, solid fuel or LPG systems.

Our electric boiler range is not only suitable for wet central heating but also for underfloor heating.

In the long term, electricty from renewable sources is the future for central heating and hot water systems.

AVC Etech S and Thermaflow Electric Combi Boilers

Designed to meet evolving needs the electric storage/combination boiler range has tremendous thermal efficiency. In excess of 99% of the energy input is given back into the hot water and heating systems.

The stainless steel vessel is guaranteed for 25 years and the ancillary components and expansion vessels are guaranteed for 2 years, (components only eligible in the second year).Subject to correct installation and annual service, (by an approved and competent installer), recorded in the log book.

The boiler is equipped with a high efficiency heat exchanger which gives up to 30 litres of hot water per minute.

This provides an extremely fast response to both hot water and heating needs:

    * Hot water at the taps within 5-10 seconds approximately

    * Radiators can reach maximum surface temperature within 3 minutes

The integration of expansion tanks allows the fast response and mains pressure hot water at high flow rates. This makes it ideal for power showers without the need for a booster pump. There is therefore no need for a water tank, hot water storage or an unvented cylinder.

The ACV/Thermaflow electric storage/combination boilers use standard plumbing components, with flexible installation options, longlife immersion heaters are used and all controls are prewired. A mixing valve is supplied to adjust hot water temperature.

No flue - it can be sited in any suitable internal location, (preferably in a suitable sized cupboard),

and since it has no emissions it's environmentally friendly.

An additional benefit of not requiring a flue is the suitability for flats and listed buildings.

Thermaflow Running Costs

The ACV Etech S and the Thermaflow range of electric combi boilers are designed to operate on peak avoidance tariffs. Energy availability is controlled by signals transmitted over normal radio frequencies.

Typically, as an example, Scottish Power offer the Economy 2000 tariff for our Etech S or Thermaflow electric boilers giving periods totaling 18 hours a day at an approximate 50% reduction in the cost per unit, (per kWh).
